Diamond Shruumz Products Sold at Vape/Smoke/CBD Shops Nationwide
The warning involves all Diamond Shruumz products. They were sold in Texas and other states nationwide at vape/smoke shops, and other retailers who sell hemp-derived products, such as cannabidiol (CBD) or delta-8 tetrahydrocannabinol (delta-8 THC), according to the FDA.
What Caused the Illnesses?
The FDA is working to determine the cause of these illnesses and is considering the appropriate next steps, but tests have discovered illegal substances, including O-acetylpsilocin, psilocin, kavalactones, pregabalin, and muscimol.
Diamond Shruumz is a brand of mushroom-infused candy that was advertised to contian a “microdose” of mushrooms like Lion’s mane, Reishi, and Chaga, which produce “a more creative state of mind,” according to the manufacturer.
Mushroom-Infused Candy May Appeal to Children
Children and teenagers may be more likely to eat Diamond Shruumz products because they are advertised as candy. The FDA recommends that parents “should consider discussing the information in this advisory with their children and take extra care to avoid these products being consumed by younger people.”
