Cotton Candy Makers Recalled for Burn Injury Hazards
In September 2025, the Chicago-based company Wuensche USA recalled thousands of Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers that were sold at ALDI due to fire and burn injury hazards.
What is the Risk?
The heating element in the cotton candy maker can cause the sugar to ignite, burn, spark, or catch on fire if the machine is used without the included sugar receptacle.
According to the recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on September 18, 2025:
“The heating element can cause sugar to ignite, if a consumer uses the product without the included sugar receptacle, posing a fire hazard.”
What Happened?
There were 12 reports of sparking or fires linked to the recalled Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers, according to the manufacturer.
Where Were They Sold?
This recall involves about 21,690 Ambiano Cotton Candy Makers that were sold exclusively at ALDI stores nationwide between August 2024 and September 2024 for about $15.
Product Recall Information
The recall includes all Ambiano® Cotton Candy Makers with Model Number 836098. Consumers can find the model number on a label on the bottom of the unit, and the bottom of the product packaging.
What Do The Recalled Cotton Candy Makers Look Like?
The machines have a teal or red base, with a clear plastic cover, and a single switch on the front of the machine. On the red machines, the switch is under the name “Ambiano.” On the teal machines, the switch is under the stylized triangular “A” logo for Ambiano products.
What Should I Do?
Customers should immediately stop using the recalled cotton candy makers and get a refund. You can get a refund by returning your fully-intact Ambiano Cotton Candy Maker to any ALDI store.
Alternatively, you can get a refund by emailing Wuensche USA. You will need to email photos of your unit with the unplugged power cord cut, and a photo showing the Model Number 836098 and Date Code 08/2024 to Wuensche at service@801service.net.
