Texas Costco Stores Recall Topo Chico For Bacteria Contamination

June 4, 2025 — Costco stores in Texas have announced a recall for bottles of Topo Chico Mineral Water that may be contaminated with bacteria.

The recall involves Topo Chico mineral water in 16.9-oz bottles, which were sold in 18-packs with Lot Code “13A2541” on the box and the neck of the bottle.

They were sold from May 20 through May 29, 2025 at certain Costco warehouses in Texas and Louisiana, according to the recall.

Costco is urging anyone who bought these products to return the item to their local Costco for a full refund.

No illnesses were reported, but the mineral water may be contaminated with Pseudomonas, which is a group of bacteria that is commonly found in soil and water. It can also cause infections.

Infections with Pseudomonas aeruginosa are particularly dangerous for people with weakened immune systems due to certain underlying health issues, elderly adults, young children, and other high-risk individuals.

No illnesses were reported in the recall. Coca-Cola, the manufacturer of Topo Chico Mineral Water, is urging anyone who experienced symptoms of illness to contact a health care provider immediately.
