Ostarine and other bodybuilding drugs known as SARMs are advertised as “dietary supplements,” when they are actually unapproved drugs that are linked to heart attack, stroke, liver damage, and other severe side effects.
Need a Texas Class Action Lawyer? Collen A. Clark is a true advocate for his clients and is passionate about helping Texans that have been injured or wronged. What are SARMs?
SARMs, also known as Selective Androgen Receptor Modulators, are illegally marketed as non-steroid “dietary supplements” toward bodybuilders and athletes, but they are actually pharmaceutical drugs.
Unlike traditional steroids, SARMs are taken as a pill, and they specifically target cells in the bones and muscles.
The problem is that SARMs are linked to serious short-term side effects, and unknown long-term risks, according to the FDA:
“Life threatening reactions, including liver toxicity, have occurred in people taking products containing SARMs. SARMs also have the potential to increase the risk of heart attack and stroke.”
FDA Warning for Bodybuilding SARMs
In October 2017, the FDA issued warning letters to Infantry Labs, LLC, IronMagLabs and Panther Sports Nutrition for distributing products that contain SARMs, such as Ostarine. The FDA also warned consumers about severe, life-threatening side effects of SARMs.
Infantry Labs SARMs
Infantry Labs LLC received a warning letter for selling 2 bodybuilding SARMs labeled as “supplements” in violation of federal law:
- The Officer: ((2S)-3-(4-cyanophenoxy)-N-{4-cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2- methylpropamide (Ostarine or MK-2866)
- The Lieutenant: 4-((R)-2-((R)-2,2,2-trifluoro-1-hydroxyethyl) pyrrolidin-1-yl)-2-trifluoro Methyl) benzonitrile (LGD-4033)
IronMag Labs SARMs
IgonMag Labs received a warning letter for selling “Super DMZ 4.0,” a supplement that contained the SARM ostarine — also known as the chemical (2S)-3-(4-cyanophenoxy)-N-[4-cyano-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]-2-hydroxy-2-methylpropanamide).
Panther Sports Nutrition SARMs
Panther Sports Nutrition received a warning letter for selling the SARMs “Ostarine MK2866” and “LGD MAX” as supplements, when they were actually drugs.
What is the problem?
The Clark Firm, LLP is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but we are not currently filing a class action lawsuit against the manufacturers of SARMs.
Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits for people who developed severe side effects after using bodybuilding SARMs, such as:
- Heart attack
- Stroke
- Liver toxicity
- Liver failure
- Adverse effects on blood lipid levels
- And more
About Class Actions
In most class actions, lawyers represent a lot people with the same legal claim. Everyone who qualifies to join the class action shares the payout. This is useful when everyone is seeking a small payout.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action
Lawyers rarely file class actions when there are many people who have suffered serious injuries from a dangerous supplement. Instead, each person typically files an individual personal injury lawsuit seeking compensation for their pain and suffering, medical bills, disability, lost income, wrongful death of a loved one, and other financial losses.
