BlendJet 2 Portable Blender Recall
On December 28, 2023, BlendJet recalled approximately 4.8 million BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders because they can overheat and catch on fire, or cause laceration injuries when the blades break during use.
What is the Problem?
There were 49 reports of people who were burned when their BlendJet 2 Portable Blender overheated or caught on fire. These fires resulted in around $150,000 in property damage, BlendJet said.
BlendJet also said that 1 person suffered a laceration injury as a result of the blades breaking when the blender was being used.
How Many Incidents Were Reported?
BlendJet said it received 329 reports of the blades breaking while the blender was in use. There were also 17 reports of the blender overheating or catching on fire.
Who Sold BlendJet Blenders?
The recalled BlendJet 2 Portable Blenders were sold nationwide from October 2020 through November 2023 at Costco, Walmart, Target, other stores and online.
What Should I Do?
BlendJet is asking customers to immediately stop using their BlendJet 2 Portable Blender and visit the recall website at https://blendjet.com/safetyandrecall to check if the serial number is being recalled.

How Long Did BlendJet Know About The Problem?
BlendJet began improvements to fix safety problems many months before announcing the recall at the end of December 2023.
The base was updated to have thicker blades and an improved electrical configuration, according to a press release issued on December 28, 2023.
The company said the “vast majority” of people who bought a new BlendJet 2 Portable Blender after November 2023 will have a blender with an updated base.
Any BlendJet 2 with a serial number that begins with 5543 or a greater number is not being recalled, because it already has an updated base.
