AstroAI Mini Fridges Recalled After $360K in Fire Damage

In June 2025, approximately 250,000 AstroAI Mini Fridges were recalled due to a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries.

Dozens of incidents have been reported since 2019, including 2 fires that caused at least $360,000 in property damage. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) warning:

“CPSC has received at least 70 reports of the minifridges smoking, burning, melting or catching fire. Two fires resulted in extensive property damages, together totaling more than $360,000 in reported damages.”

What Are These Mini Fridges Used For?

The recalled AstroAI Mini Fridges are small portable refrigerators that have been advertised to hold drinks (such as a 6-pack of cans, or 4 one-liter bottles), snacks, makeup, skincare products, or other items.

The refrigerators have “AstroAI” printed on the front and they were sold nationwide from June 2019 to June 2022 for about $40.

AstroAI Mini Fridges Linked to 70 Incident Reports

The recalled AstroAI Mini Fridges have an electrical switch that can short-circuit and catch on fire, according to the recall. Safety officials received “at least 70 reports” involving AstroAI Mini Fridges, including:

• Fires
• Short-circuiting
• Smoking
• Burning
• Melting
• Overheating and catching fire
• Extensive property damage

Consumers can use the following information to identify the recalled mini fridges:

• AstroAI Mini Fridge
• Model Number LY0204A
• Nine-digit serial number starts with “S/N” and begins with the following numbers: 19, 20, 21, 2201, 2202 or 2203.
• Sold from June 2019 through June 2022
• 9.45 inches in diameter x 6.9 inches wide x 10 inches high
• Colors: black, white, blue, pink (and possibly more)
