Angry Orange Stain Remover Recalled for Infection Risk

In January 2026, Thrasio recalled about 1.5 million bottles of Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover cleaning spray due to a risk of contamination with bacteria, such as Pseudomonas, which poses a risk of serious infections.

Thrasio warned that Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Removers may contain bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which is a highly antibiotic-resistant bacteria that can pose serious health risks.

No infections were reported, but according to the recall:

“People with weakened immune systems, external medical devices, or underlying lung conditions who are exposed to Pseudomonas aeruginosa face a risk of serious infection that may require medical treatment. The bacteria can enter the body if inhaled, through the eyes, or through a break in the skin. People with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by bacteria.”

What Happened?

No infections or illnesses were reported when Thrasio announced the recall for Angry Orange Enzyme Stain Remover on January 22, 2026. However, there is a risk of bacteria contamination in the recalled bottles of Angry Orange, including Pseudomonas and other potentially dangerous microbes.

What is Pseudomonas?

Pseudomonas is an opportunistic pathogen, meaning it usually infects people who are immunocompromised due to underlying health issues that weaken their immune systems, rather than healthy adults.

The infection can be very serious. This is because Pseudomonas is naturally antibiotic-resistant, which is why some people need to be hospitalized.

People who are exposed to Pseudomonas and other microbes in a contaminated bottle of Angry Orange Stain & Odor Remover could potentially develop a life-threatening infection. The risk is most serious for high-risk people, especially those with vulnerable immune systems.
