August 31, 2021 — LoHi Tech recalled nearly 25,000 SOWTECH Espresso Machines due to a risk of burns and other serious injuries.
The recall was issued after 48 reports of the glass carafe breaking while it was in use, causing hot coffee to spill. At least 5 people suffered burn injuries.
Consumers can identify the recalled espresso machines with a silver label on the bottom of the machine marked with “Model CM6811.” The name “SOWTECH” is printed in large black type on the front panel.
The espresso machines were sold Amazon.com and LoHi-Direct.com between March 2017 and October 2020 for about $60.
