September 25, 2017 — Fireworks Over America, of Springfield, Missouri, has recalled ‘Serious Spinout’ multi-effect fireworks because they can tip over and fire shells at bystanders.
The recalled fireworks were sold nationwide between October 2016 and July 2017 for about $10 at wholesalers and fireworks stores, tents, and stands.
According to a warning from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC):
“The lit firework can tip over and fire shells at bystanders, posing burn, fire and impact hazards to consumers.”
Consumers can identify the recalled fireworks by finding the product coda FOA 2773 on the back panel in the lower right-hand corner. The words “Serious Spinout” and an image of 2 yellow cars is printed on the front of the product. The fireworks consist of 8 tubes that are bundled together, measuring about 6″ tall by 4″ wide.
Fireworks Over America is offering a full refund and urges consumers to immediately stop using the fireworks.
