April 3, 2024 — Two employees were seriously burned in a fire at an oil refinery in Borger, a city located in the Texas Panhandle.
Borger city officials said that 2 people suffered serious burn injuries and were life-flighted to University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, for treatment.
Phillips 66 said that the fire started at around 11:20 a.m. in one of the processing plants at the oil refinery complex.
Emergency responders and the Borger Fire Department were immediately notified. The fire was extinguished by 1:00 p.m., according to Phillips 66.
The cause of the oil refinery fire is still under investigation.
