Organic Frozen Spinach Recalled for Listeria Risk

October 8, 2025 — Organic frozen spinach products that were sold under the Sno Pac® and Del Mar® brand-names have been recalled due to possible Listeria contamination.

The recall was announced by the Minnesota-based grower, Sno Pac Foods Inc.

Two types of products are being recalled, including spinach sold in 10-oz. plastic bags at grocery stores nationwide, and 35-pound bulk-size boxes that were shipped to distributors. These products include:

• Sno Pac Organic Frozen Cut Spinach: Sold in a 10-ounce plastic bag. The package is marked with:
  • Lot code SPM1.190.5 with best by 7/9/27
  • Lot code SPC1.160.5 with best by 6/9/27
  • Lot code SPC2.160.5 with best by 6/9/27
  • Lot codeSPM1.097.5 with best by 4/7/27
• Del Mar Bulk Organic Frozen Spinach: Sold in a 35-pound box
  • Lot codes 250107A, 250107B, 250107C, 250107D, 2501071, and 2501073
  • Expiration Date 1/7/27

There were no illnesses reported in the recall, but people who eat food that is contaminated with Listeria can develop a serious illness called listeriosis. The symptoms may not appear for up to 2 months.

Anyone can become seriously ill, but Listeria is most dangerous for pregnant women, elderly adults, and people with vulnerable immune systems.

Sno Pac Foods explained that a bulk case of spinach from their supplier tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes, and it was the same lot code that was used in the 10-oz. packages of Sno Pac Organic Frozen Cut Spinach.

The company is urging anyone who bought this product to throw it away, or return it to the store for a full refund.
