October 4, 2023 — “Not Fried Chicken” ice cream buckets, bars, and peach-flavored ice cream products have been recalled due to a risk of Listeria contamination.
The recall was announced by Life Raft Treats, a creamery based in South Carolina, after a sample of “Not Fried Chicken” ice cream tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes.
The ice cream was shipped to distribution centers in Texas, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, North Carolina, New York, and South Carolina, beginning on August 21, 2023.
The recall involves the following products, all of which have best-by dates up through and including AUG 8212024:
- Not Fried Chicken (64-oz bucket)
- Not Fried Chicken (2.5-oz. bars, UPC 8 60006 18210 6)
- Life Is Peachy Ice Cream in a 6-count box
Life Raft Treats warned consumers not to eat the recalled ice cream products. They can be thrown away or returned to the store where they were purchased for a full refund.
