Mann's Nourish Bowls Recalled for Listeria Risk

October 20, 2017 — A recall has been issued for Mann’s Nourish Bowls® and a variety of fresh vegetable products due to a possible risk of Listeria food poisoning.

Mann Packing of Salinas, California, announced the recall after a single random sample tested positive for Listeria by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.

The recall involves minimally-processed vegetables in a variety of products, including Nourish Bowls®, bagged vegetables (broccoli, cauliflower, brussels sprouts), salad kits, cole slaw, stir fry, vegetable trays, hummus trays, snack trays, and more.

The products were sold at grocery stores in the U.S. and Canada with “Best By” dates between October 12, 2017 and October 20, 2017

No illnesses have been reported, but the FDA warns that infections with Listeria monocytogenes can be serious or even fatal — especially for people who are very young, old, sick, or pregnant.

“Although healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.”
