May 29, 2019 — Target, Food 4 Less, HEB, Ralph’s, and other stores recalled La Bella Extreme Sport Styling Gel because it may be contaminated with bacteria, such as B. cepacia.
The Village Company recalled 22-oz bottles of La Bella Extreme Sport Styling Gel after 4 lots tested positive for contamination with bacteria such as Burkholderia cepacia and similar strains.
Infections with B. cepacia are very rare in healthy adults. However, this infection poses a serious risk to people with chronic lung diseases, such as cystic fibrosis, or other diseases that weaken the immune system.
The recalled styling gel products were manufactured by Kapra Cosmetics Inc. and distributed nationwide since March 5, 2019.
The Lot Numbers included in the recall are 19057B, 19072C, 19072E, 19072G.
La Bella Extreme Sport Styling Gel was sold nationwide at dozens of retailers and distributors such as Target, Kroger (Food 4 Less and Ralphs), Stater Bros, HEB, Cardinal Health, Certco, Cashco Distributors, Bashas, All Essentials, Yosemite Wholesale – Merced, Supervalu, AJ Express and Latin American Distributors, Inc.
