July 8, 2016 — Pacific Cycle has issued a recall for 217,600 jogging strollers because the front wheel can loosen and fall off.
The company has received 215 reports of injuries, including head injuries, sprains, lacerations, bumps, bruises, and abrasions.
The problem is a quick-release lever on the swivel-wheel on the front of the stroller.
Recalled jogging stroller models include:
- Instep Safari
- Instep Grand Safari
- Instep Flight
- Schwinn Turismo
- Schwinn Discover Single
- Double Occupant Swivel

The company is not providing refunds and does not want customers to return the strollers. Instead, they want customers to fix the problem.
Immediately stop using the recalled jogging strollers and contact Pacific Cycle for a free repair kit to secure the front wheel. The kit includes a mechanism to secure the wheel using a traditional screw on/off method, rather than a quick-release lever.
The strollers were sold nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Target.com, Toys-R-Us.com, Walmart.com, and other online retailers from January 2010 through June 2016 for between $130 and $350.
