July 31, 2025 — After about $15,000 in property damage, thousands of iStore Magnetic Wireless Power Banks were recalled due to fire and burn hazards.
The power banks contain a lithium-ion battery that can potentially catch on fire. There were “three reports of the wireless power banks overheating and exploding while they were charging,” according to the recall.
One person reported a minor burn injury on their arm. The recalled iStore Power Banks were also linked to 5 reports of property damage of about $15,000 according to the recall.
The recall involves iStore Magnetic Wireless Power Banks (IST-09991/W05 model only), with UPC 7-76704-09991-5.
These power banks were sold nationwide at vending machines and stores in various airport locations, and online at iStore.co, between February 2023 and May 2025.
To identify the recalled power banks, look for the “iStore” logo engraved on the front side of the power bank. The model number is printed on the back.
The manufacturer, Tomauri Inc., of Ontario, Canada, is urging consumers to immediately stop using the recalled iStore Power Banks. Go to the website to participate in the recall: https://istore.co/pages/battery-recall.
To participate in the recall, you must submit photographs of the power bank’s model number, and another photo of the power bank with the word “RECALLED” on it, with the date, in permanent marker.
