October 24, 2018 — Harris Teeter has recalled two types of burritos and a BBQ chicken pizza due to a possible risk of food poisoning with Listeria bacteria.
Harris Teeter announced the voluntary recall on October 16. No reports of food poisoning were confirmed.
The recall involves the following products:
- Fresh Foods Market Bacon Egg & Cheese Burrito – UPC 76108880310
- Fresh Foods Market Chicken Sausage Egg White Burrito – UPC 76108880311
- Fresh Foods Market BBQ Chicken Pizza – UPC 76108880347
Harris Teeter has removed all of the recalled items from its Fresh Foods Market. Customers who bought these items should not eat them. Instead, return the recalled items to Harris Teeter for a full refund.
Eating food that is contaminated with the bacteria Listeria monocytogenes can cause severe food poisoning. The infections can spread beyond the intestines and cause meningitis, severe pregnancy complications, or death.
