DaVinci Recalls Bassinets Again for Infant Injury Hazard

July 14, 2020 — DaVinci has issued a second recall for around 3,000 Bailey Bassinets due to yet another defect that could cause injury or death to a baby.

This recall involves wooden DaVinci Bailey Bassinets for infants in gray (M0934G), espresso (M0934Q), natural (M0934N) and white (M0934W). The model number “0934” is printed on a white label attached to the mattress support board and on the product package.

DaVinci issued the first recall in December 2019 due to a fall hazard. The problem was that the bassinet’s support legs could break.

At the time, there were 19 reports of the support legs breaking. Fortunately, no infants were injured.

On July 9, DaVinci announced a second recall for Bailey Bassinets because the mattress support could become disengaged.

DaVinci said it has received 13 reports of the mattress support becoming disengaged. No injuries were reported, but the problem poses a life-threatening safety hazard. Infants can fall or become trapped and suffocate if the mattress is not supported in the bassinet.

The recalled Bailey Bassinets were sold from August 2018 through September 2019 at Amazon.com, buybuybaby.com, target.com, jcpenney.com and other online retailers for about $110.

DaVinci is asking parents to immediately stop using the bassinets and contact the company for a free repair kit.
