June 18, 2025 — Fuentes Farms, of McAllen, Texas, has recalled cucumbers that were sold in Texas due to a risk of Salmonella contamination.
The recall involves 71 boxes of fresh cucumbers that were sold at flea markets in the McAllen and Alamo areas of Texas by local vendors.
The cucumbers were distributed in cardboard boxes that are marked with a “Fuentes Farm’s LLC” label and Lot #357. The boxes were distributed between May 31, 2025 and June 3, 2025.
The recall involves 40-pound boxes (also called 1-1/9-bushel boxes). The boxes have the word “Vegetables” on a black background.
The website for Fuentes Farms said it imports produce “directly from Puebla, Mexico,” but the recall does not say where the cucumbers were grown.
No illnesses were reported when the recall was announced on June 13, 2025.
Fuentes Farms also said “the recall is not part of any current food outbreaks.” An ongoing outbreak of Salmonella has been linked to cucumbers from Bedner Growers, which has sickened 45 people.
Fuentes Farms is asking customers who bought the recalled cucumbers to return them to the place of purchase.
The FDA is urging people to seek medical attention if they develop symptoms of Salmonella after eating cucumbers: “Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain.”
