February 11, 2020 — Blendtopia has recalled a variety of Superfood Smoothie Kits that were sold at Whole Foods due to a risk of Listeria contamination.
The recall involves 29,078 cases of Blendtopia® brand Superfood Smoothie Kits (7-ounce). The products are frozen and contain pre-portioned, organic, ready-to-blend smoothie “chips.”
The recalled products are labeled as “Glow”, “Detox”, “Energy”, “Immunity” and “Strength” Superfood Smoothie Kits, with best-by dates of July 2021, Oct 2021, and Nov 2021.
No illnesses have been reported. Blendtopia initiated the recall due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination, but the company believes the problem is isolated to a single ingredient.
Blendtopia is warning consumers not to consume these products. Consumers who bought these products should discard them or return them to the place of purchase.
