In August 2026, Goal Zero recalled about 46,200 YETI 3000X portable power stations after 4 reports of fires, overheating, and smoking due to a circuit board problem. No injuries were reported in the recall, but the issue poses serious fire and burn hazards.
What is the Problem?
The recall warns the circuit board on these recalled power station can overheat and ignite. These units weigh about 92 pounds and can store over 3,000 watt-hours of energy. If the unit catches on fire, it could spread very quickly.
What Is the Fire Risk?
The circuit board in the YETI 3000X is designed to manage the flow of power in and out of the lithium-ion battery. If the circuit board overheats, it can lead to smoking, overheating, or a fire.
