32 Degrees Heated Socks Recalled After 13 Burn Injuries Reported

In April 2026, David Peyser Sportswear d/b/a 32 Degrees recalled approximately 207,806 heated socks in cooperation with the CPSC due to a burn hazard.

The socks were sold at Costco stores and on Costco.com from August 2025 through March 2026 for between $30 and $46.

What Is the Hazard?

According to the CPSC, when worn during high-intensity activities that generate a combination of heat, excessive friction, moisture, and pressure, the socks can pose an injury hazard including burns.

“When worn during high-intensity activities that generate a combination of heat, excessive friction, moisture and pressure, the socks can pose an injury hazard including burns.”

The socks are battery-powered and designed to warm the feet during outdoor activities. Reports indicate that the heating element, combined with the physical demands of vigorous activity, has been linked to heat-related injuries including first- and second-degree burns to consumers’ feet.

How Many People Were Burned?

The CPSC has confirmed 14 heat-related incidents involving these socks, with 13 involving first- or second-degree burns. Burn injuries to the feet can be particularly serious, potentially requiring medical treatment and limiting a person’s ability to work or perform daily activities.

  • 14 heat-related incidents reported nationally
  • 13 of those incidents involved first- or second-degree burns

If you purchased these socks at a Texas Costco and were burned, you may have legal options. The Clark Firm is currently reviewing cases for Texans affected by this recall.
