April 5, 2021 — A woman who slipped and fell at an Aldi supermarket in Texas has been awarded $1,125,000 for her pain and physical impairment.
The 64-year-old woman slipped and fell in a puddle at an Aldi supermarket in Longview, Texas.
Lawyers said video footage showed the store manager and an assistant walking by the puddle and leaving it unattended for 7 minutes, at which time the woman slipped and took a hard fall.
The fall caused her to suffer serious back injuries, and yet Aldi refused to pay for her X-rays.
Her law firm said that the woman is expected to suffer from back pain for the rest of her life. She will also require ongoing medical treatment.
The verdict is the highest ever in a business premises liability case in a Texas federal court, according to her lawyers.
