1 Million Anker Power Banks Recalled After 19 Fires, $60K Damage

June 13, 2025 — Anker recalled 1.2 million power banks that were linked to 19 fires, 2 burn injuries, and over $60,000 in damage.

The recall involves Anker PowerCore 10,000 Power Banks (Model A1263 only) that were sold from June 2016 through December 2022.

Anker warned that the lithium-ion battery in the power banks can overheat and explode, posing fire hazards and a risk of burn injuries:

“Anker has received 19 reports of fires and explosions. This includes two reports of minor burn injuries not requiring medical attention and 11 reports of property damage totaling over $60,700.”

Anker is urging customers to check to see if their power banks are included in the recall.

The recalled power banks are engraved on the front with the name “Anker.” They are marked on the bottom with the Model Number A1263. You can check the Serial Number at the recall website: https://www.anker.com/product-recalls, and register for a replacement.
