Stribild Class Action Lawsuit in California

In May 2018, Gilead Sciences was hit with a class action lawsuit in California that is seeking compensation for everyone who took Stribild and other HIV medications that contain Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate (TDF).

Bone & Kidney Side Effects of HIV Drugs

TDF an older formula of Tenofovir that is no longer recommended because it must be taken in higher doses and poses a higher risk of bone and kidney side effects compared to a newer low-dose version of Tenofovir called TAF (Tenofovir Alafenamide).

Stribild Lawsuits

Lawsuits have been filed against Gilead Sciences by people who accuse the drug-maker of intentionally delaying development of TAF to maximize profits on Stribild and other older drugs with TDF. This resulted in many patients developing bone loss, dental problems, and kidney side effects.

According to these lawsuits, Gilead knew as early as 2001 that TDF was “…highly toxic in the doses prescribed and risked permanent and possibly fatal damage to the kidneys and bones.”

About Class Actions

Class actions are often used when a lot of people are seeking a refund or reimbursement. However, they can have disadvantages for individuals who have suffered severe injuries from a dangerous drug. The problem is that everyone in a class action shares the payout.

Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action

Our law firm specializes in filing lawsuits against drug-makers who fail to warn about side effects to boost profits on dangerous drugs. If you were injured by Stribild, we may be able to help you file a lawsuit and seek compensation for your injury, medical bills, lost income, and more.
