FDA Warning Letter Genetech Stem Cell Company
The FDA sent a Warning Letter to Genetech Inc. of San Diego, California, the company that manufactured the stem cell shots.
The products listed in the FDA warning letter include:
Stem Cell Shot Recall
On October 10, 2018, a recall was issued by Liveyon LLC for all ReGen® stem cell shots manufactured by Genetech, Inc.
What is the Problem?
Stem cell shots are advertised as a “cure-all” for pain, arthritis, eye disorders, Parkinsons disease, and many other diseases. The problem is that stem cell shots pose serious safety risks — including cancer and infections — and there is little evidence they actually work.
Inspectors Find Safety Violations at Stem Cell Shot Manufacturer
Inspectors found numerous safety violations at Genetech Inc. that could result in bacterial contamination of stem cell shots. Some of the violations included:
- Advertising stem cell shots without approval from the FDA
- Manufacturing problems that could lead to bacterial contamination
- Donor eligibility problems
- Lack of environmental controls
- Lack of control over production
- No system to prevent contamination and mix-ups
