Nova Diabetes and the FDA have announced a global Class 1 recall of 21 lots of the following blood-sugar test strips:

• Nova Max Blood Glucose Test Strips
• Max Plus Glucose Meter Kits

The test strips were manufactured from December 2011 until April 2013. They were sold in retail stores, online, and in hospitals. The FDA believes the strips were contaminated with a chemical used in the manufacturing process, which could interfere with readings.
