No illnesses have been reported, but food poisoning with Listeria can be very serious — especially for children, elderly adults, and people with weak immune systems. The symptoms may not appear for up to 70 days. In severe cases, Listeria infections can cause meningitis, bloodstream infections, pregnancy complications, or death.
