Sam’s Club Recalls Super Greens Powder for Salmonella
In October 2025, Sam’s Club stores nationwide announced a recall or all lots and expiration-dates of Super Greens Powder, a dietary supplement that is used to make “superfood green smoothies.” According to the outbreak warning:
“Do not eat, serve, or sell any Member’s Mark Super Greens powdered supplements containing moringa leaf powder.”
FDA Links Outbreak to Moringa Leaf Powder Ingredient
The recalled Super Greens Powder contains moringa leaf powder. This is the ingredient that tested positive for the outbreak strain of Salmonella that is linked to illnesses, according to the FDA.
An investigation into the source of the moringa leaf powder ingredient converged on a single supplier from India, according to the FDA:
“A single lot of organic moringa leaf powder (lot code VFD/ORG/MORP/L/24 with the best by date (BBD) of November 2027) from Vallon Farm Direct of India can explain all illnesses included in the traceback investigation.”
Greens Powder Recalls May Expand
Organic moringa leaf powder was used in multiple products, but 6 sick people who were interviewed by health officials said they ate Member’s Mark® Super Greens Powder that was from Sam’s Club.
Three people who were interviewed consumed other “Greens Powder” products containing moringa leaf powder ingredients. These other products may also be recalled as the FDA gathers more information.
