“Today’s Harvest” Frozen Veggies Recalled for Listeria Risk

April 27, 2015 — Greystone Foods, LLC has issued a voluntary recall for Today’s Harvest brand frozen peas, corn, and broccoli that may be contaminated with Listeria.

The recall was issued after the company was informed by a supplier that an area of their facility where the field peas and snaps were blended tested positive for Listeria on a non-food contact surface.

The products came in 32-oz clear plastic bags and were located in the frozen food section of Publix Supermarket warehouses in Lakeland, Florida. The manufacturer does not believe any products left the facility, but Publix is removing the brands from store shelves as a precaution.

The sell-by date of April 21, 2016 was printed along the bottom seal of the bag in black ink. The following products are included in the recall:

• Today’s Harvest Frozen Field Peas with Snaps
• Today’s Harvest Frozen Broccoli Florets
• Today’s Harvest Frozen Silver Queen Corn

Listeria monocytogenes is a bacteria that is commonly found in soil. Infections pose serious health risks for young children, older adults, and people with weakened immune systems. Infection can also cause miscarriage and stillbirths among pregnant women.
